Parent Community Engagement Lead

I have a background in psychology and special educational needs, with experience working across schools, hospitals, and with diverse communities and grassroots networks. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice, and I am strongly committed to listening to women and families, valuing lived experience, and supporting care that is accessible and inclusive for people with diverse needs and abilities.

As I take on the role of Community Engagement Lead with MNVP RBH, I am very much looking forward to building strong and trusting relationships with parents, community groups, and professionals. I am particularly keen to help create welcoming and inclusive spaces where families feel comfortable sharing their experiences, especially those who may face additional barriers to being heard, including families living with disability or additional needs. I am motivated by the opportunity to help ensure these voices meaningfully inform the ongoing development of maternity and neonatal services.

Alongside my professional background, I am also a mother of two children. My own experiences of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood have given me a deeper understanding of the emotional and practical challenges many families face, and they continue to shape the empathy and care I bring to my work. I also bring experience in safeguarding, working across different teams and services, and supporting both families and staff. At the heart of my contribution to MNVP is a commitment to partnership, valuing difference, and supporting maternity and neonatal care that feels respectful, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of all families.
