Sarah Magor
Parent Community Engagement Lead
I first learnt about the MNVP when I was pregnant during the 2020 lockdown. It was great to have that source of information and support during such an uncertain time. I then volunteered as a Parent Rep as I was keen to get more involved, having seen the difference that the MNVP makes.
My career has always been in community-based work. I am passionate about supporting people with lived experiences to have their voices heard and make a difference in their local community. My roles have included running a user-led self advocacy charity for people with learning disabilities, supporting adults with disabilities to find employment, and working with young people in care to speak up about their experiences of the social care system.
I live in Caversham with my family, although I grew up in Wokingham and worked there for a lot of my career. As a mum to 2 girls (my second daughter was born at the RBH), I can empathise with people’s experiences of the maternity journey. I am looking forward to bringing my skills and experience in co-production, engagement and advocacy to the MNVP community to see the difference that we can make working together.
